Cindy and I saw a Merlin this week on our regular walk. It's always been a favourite bird of prey because the colours are vibrant in flight. I thought I would find a Merlin in flight and paint it, but I liked this photo when I saw it. I had planned a dark background, but decided the image was done when I finished the last details on the bird.
